With Mother’s Day next Sunday I want to touch on the subject of gift giving. I am a relative simple person when it comes to receiving gifts. I absolutely love candles or almost anything with a good smell. Yes, I am a girlie girl through and through and the more feminine the product or the smell the better.
Here are a few of the things that I like to receive as gifts not just for Mother’s Day but on other occasions as well.
- Smelly Candles- Bath and Body Works has a variety of scented candles to please anyone’s nose. On the higher end Neiman’s and a few boutiques have specialized scented candles too, however, the best deals are at Bath and Body Works, Target and Pier One.
- Perfume- Although perfume can be a personal choice I still believe it is a good gift choice. If you are in doubt as to whether your Mom will like a fragrance that you pick out then why not buy her favorite scent and then pick up a smaller bottle of a different fragrance to introduce her to.
- Flowers- Always a good choice. If your Mom has a favorite go with it but also try something new. You can also get a great deal on Orchids this time of year at the grocery store or maybe even Costco or Sam’s Club.
- Lounge Wear- Who doesn’t like a comfy pair of PJ’s or a cute nightshirt! Victoria’s Secret has really cute sleep shirts but you can also find some cute things at Target. If you prefer something on the higher end Cosa Bella or Neiman’s will surely have something your Mom will love.
- Massage Therapy- A massage is always a win win. There are lots of nice Spa’s in the city, either stand alone or inside of a hotel. Bliss at the W Hotel is a good choice, as is Exhale at The Loews Hotel and the spa at The Mandarin are all favorites of mine.
I hope that these choices will make your gift giving a little easier this year but I also challenge you not to wait until a holiday to show your Mom your love.
Sometimes it means more to get a gift just because inside of on a designated holiday.
